Hunger Calls is a simple new conveyor-belt puzzle game from Clickgamer.com.You tell the food where to go so the customer eats the right food, and they in turn pay you more money, in the magical microeconomics of Hunger Calls-land.When you do feed the people enough of the right food you progress a level.There are these conveyor belts that move food.The food goes to people sitting there waiting for it.They want you to give it to them.And only the food that is in a little bubble over their heads.There are arrows in many levels that have to be changed like a train track.There are also levels where the player must move them off the conveyor belt to where the customer is sitting.The color scheme in Hunger Calls is friendly to families of every shape, color, and form.The characters in Hunger Calls look happy when they are being served quickly.Not so happy when they are being neglected.Which can be irritating if their food item is not coming out of the machine.It is not like I had a choice over what would roll on out.What is even worse is the food can give the customers a stomach ache and the player must give them some medicine.There are thirty-nine levels in Hunger Calls.The levels in Hunger Calls become progressively more difficult.The goal is for a player to serve each customer what they ordered as quickly a possible.There’s a bit of story.Max, a young robot inventor, wants to create a fully automated diner that can serve the kids better and faster than humans.But these robots and mechanical devices still need some help from a human player to make them work.Hunger Calls requires quick thinking, lots of dexterity and is compulsively re playable.There’s also something oddly satisfying about watching the greedy kids explode.The game is well worth the price of admission.

The game will have you twisting and twiddling your fingers in no time, hence a really effective name: Cross Fingers.Cross Fingers melds a couple of simple puzzle game types together into an attractive package, and then sprinkles it with a healthy dose of multi-touch for a unique experience that is truly befitting of the platform.The core gameplay of Cross Fingers involves moving wooden shapes into a pre-defined pattern.Each puzzle board has its own pathways carved into it, so you not only have to combine the pieces correctly, but must navigate them all within the physical space.On top of that, there are red blocks that can be moved, but then snap back into place when you let go of them.What you get is a seamless combination of tangrams, unblock puzzles, and Twister for your fingers.The experience is very tactile, and the puzzles can get devious with how you need to manipulate all of the elements involved.Cross Fingers has a total of 120 levels, 30 each for easy, normal, hard and the unlockable pro difficulties.The puzzles do a good job of mixing things up, with some of them concentrating on the tangram/unblock elements, and others focusing more-so on the manual dexterity angle.You will be called upon to use three, four, or even five fingers at times in order to hold and shift things into place, and those are often the best moments in the game.After you’ve completed all 120 levels in Puzzle Mode, an Arcade mode is unlocked.Arcade mode gives you an open playing field on which shapes are periodically pushed onto.You need to keep combining shapes to form a square pattern in the center of the screen, which then removes the shapes you’ve used.The game is over when additional pieces are blocked from entering the board, and you’re given a score based on how many squares you’ve completed and how long you’ve survived.This mode isn’t as good as the core game,but it’s a nice addition to help extend the gameplay even further.Cross Fingers is full of little touches like this,which makes the whole experience feel very polished and satisfying.Cross Fingers is a very serene and intelligent game,and feels like something you can only experience on the iPhone.It’s a great puzzler, as well as a nice demonstration of what some multi-touch can offer.

Are you ready for a blast, because Happy Hills is full of explosions.Happy Hills turns out to be more than the run of the mill physics puzzler.The game has some well designed levels and thoughtful mechanics that make clearing the levels challenging without being overly frustrating.The game’s physics are equally well done.They are predictable and consistent; an important characteristic of any physics based game.In Happy Hills every level is populated with one or more hills.Now these, aren’t normal hills by any means.These hill have faces and they can move up and down.However, the poor hills are being weighed down by boxes made out of stone, metal, and wood which the player must remove from the hilltops using strategically placed bomb blasts, thus allowing the hills to rise and fall as they please.Bad blocks have rained down upon the hills, and it’s your goal to knock those bad blocks off to make the hills happy again.You simply drag your finger to where you want the bomb to detonate, and the game shows the blocks power and trajectory based on where you drag your finger.Using the bombs players must send the boxes flying from the hilltops.In each level there are a limited number of bombs available and the player must clear all the boxes from all of the hilltops to complete the levels.For an added degree of difficulty, players can destroy the boxes, earning a star for each destroyed box.This is accomplished by making them fall into bottomless pits, lighting them on fire, or drowning them.At the end of the level stars are awarded for each destroyed box.Destroying the boxes is not required to finish a level so it adds a fun little twist to make the game more challenging without holding up progression.While you’re blasting blocks, you get to listen to the upbeat soundtrack, and witness the great game design.The art style is reminiscent of Super Mario World, and it’s great to see the changing emotions of the hills and blocks.Happy Hills is a great game and it shines in so many ways.The hills, boxes, and environments are very well animated and they bring a sugary charm and polish to the game that players will appreciate.Happy Hills is sure to create a lot of happy faces out there.
