Worms
Worms is a turn-based artillery combat game. Each turn is strictly timed, and consists of moving (usually laterally with small jumps),using a weapon, and then a brief retreat time.At the start of each turn, you can move your worm (or use ninja ropes, jet packs, and other items to reach areas that would be inaccessible otherwise), fire with whatever weapon you choose, and briefly retreat.Littering the battlefield are mines and exploding barrels that can either be avoided or used to your advantage as you blast enemy worms in to them. One of the big strengths of Worms is the large selection of weapons.Weapons are incredibly varied and each is truly unique. There are the standard weapons – the bazooka and grenade, and then the not-so-standard ones, such as the sheep or the holy grenade. There can be up to four teams at once, with four worms on each team.Turns cycle in order between teams, and also between Worms on a team. To make things more difficult, the terrain is littered with obstacles, mines, and explosive barrels.Occasionally health, weapon, and utility crates are dropped from the sky. With all the gameplay elements, Worms can quickly become frantic and chaotic, as chain reactions and the like are commonplace. The initial release of Worms contains only three main game modes: quick play, challenges, and “hot-seat” multiplayer.Quick play, as the name would suggest, throws you into a game on a randomly generated map against an easy, normal, or hard AI.The random maps are a nice feature and add some replay value.Challenge mode consists of 50 completely predetermined levels, ranging from extremely easy to very difficult. For some mind-boggling and unknown reason, Team17 has decided to only include one device multiplayer even though online multiplayer is a hallmark of the series. The background music is still purposefully at odds with the destruction, although you can opt for your own music. The worms utter goofy worm-speak in funny accents. The music is fine, but the voices and sound effects of the worms are just downright hilarious and add charm to the game.

Periodic
Periodic is an ad-free and complete reference to the Periodic Table of Elements. It includes useful information such as an element’s atomic weight, electron configuration, melting point, boiling point, atomic radius, ionic radius, and discovery year. Periodic is a useful tool for every student. All 118 elements can be organized and ordered by name, atomic number, chemical series (or group), symbol, and phase. Each element’s icon is color-coded by its phase with pristine graphics. Version 2.1 keeps all of the features of Version 2.0, but makes the program lighter and more efficient. The graphics on both the Periodic Table and the tables of elements load much faster. Version 2.1 also adds four main features to Periodic. First, units have been added to the elements’ information views. Second, the elements’ horizontal information views are bigger and easier to read. Third, now when you rotate your device from an individual element’s view, Periodic automatically navigates to that element’s view in the Periodic Table–or the tables of elements, depending on the orientation of the device. Finally, when viewing an individual element, you can now swipe your finger to the right along the bottom of the view to navigate back to the view of all the elements. Periodic is an easy-to-use application that provides accurate information provided by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). Periodic is an essential, mobile reference to the Periodic Table.
